James is principal dancer for the National Ballet of Canada. The Hall of Fame was initiated by Paraparaumu College students in 2015 to honour former students who have achieved at the highest level on the international stage. James’s award was accepted by his mother, Bronwyn, with a pre-recorded speech from James played at the ceremony.  You can read the citation used in the ceremony here.
