New Principal Consultation

Tena Koutou

I emailed all parents in November advising that Gregor Fountain had resigned from his position as Paraparaumu College Principal, and that the Board would be starting the process of appointing a new principal.

The Board of Trustees is using a best practice process to appoint a new Principal.  While we have a strong team on the Board with diverse skills, during the process we will be engaging a consultant specialising in principal recruitment & the NZ Trustees Association to ensure that we have the best advice available for this process.

The first stage of this process is to consult with the School Community – Students, Teachers, Staff, Iwi and of course parents.  This consultation will be completed by Christmas.

There has been significant consultation throughout the College over recent years. We see this round of consultation as an opportunity to build on, adjust and improve on the direction you have already given us when we developed the college’s strategic plan this time last year.  The results of this consultation will provide valuable input into the creation of the job description & person specification for our next leader for the College.

We held a consultation event for parents on Sunday 10 December.  If you were unable to attend and you would like input, please email thoughts on the consultation discussion questions in an email to appointments@pcol.school.nz

We value your thoughts, opinions and insights.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees
