Andrew Knewstubb presents his All Blacks Sevens jersey to 1st XV Captain, Dylan Adams

All Blacks Sevens representative, Andrew Knewstubb, returned to Paraparaumu College on Saturday 3 June to present his old College with the jersey which he wore at this year’s Hong Kong World Series Tournament.  Knewstubb left Paraparaumu College at the end of 2013 and went to the Nelson area where he initially earned a living packing fruit.  After performing well at club level, Knewstubb was selected for the Tasman sevens team, and at the National Sevens was named player of the tournament.  From there he was selected for the All Black Sevens and now holds a sevens contract with the NZ Rugby Union.  Knewstubb said that it was a pleasure to return to Paraparaumu College, with many of his favourite rugby memories involving representing the College on the number one ground.  The jersey was accepted on behalf of the College by 2017 Paraparaumu College 1st XV Captain, Dylan Adams.  In return, Principal, Gregor Fountain, presented Knewstubb with a Paraparaumu College ceremonial 1st XV cap, explaining that the presentation of the caps was a new tradition at the College, introduced since Knewstubb left school.  This is the fourth occasion that past students have presented international rugby jerseys to Paraparaumu College, with All Blacks Dane Coles and Paul Steinmetz, and England Sevens player, Warwick Lahmert, each making presentations to their College in the past
