Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festival 2020- online entries

This year’s festival looked somewhat different from previous years.  With COVID throwing a spanner in the works, the Festival to be held on the fourth of April was cancelled, and performers were left guessing as to whether they would be able to piece their scenes back together again, and what this might look like.
Fortunately SGCNZ came up with an online platform for performances to be filmed and judged on the very same criteria as previous years.  This made for an awesome afternoon of entertainment whereby three performances took place in the college auditorium for a small audience of family and friends.
We want to thank the directors and performers for their patience, perseverance, and resilience.  This has not been an easy time, but despite this, the students really honoured their craft and represented the college with pride.
We are most grateful to Lee Norris and Petra Rasmussen who have helped the performers and directors on their Shakespeare journey this year.  They have given much time and energy to making sure this event went ahead.
Big thanks also to Jack Penman, Logan Lockyer, Dev Watkins-Radcliffe and Matt Cowens for their support with the technical aspects of the performance.
This year our entries included:
Macbeth (a 15 minute compilation directed by Lee Norris and Petra Rasmussen)
Antony and Cleopatra (a 5 minute student directed piece by MacKenzie Hobbs)
Measure for Measure (also a  5 minute student directed piece by MacKenzie Hobbs)
