Confirmed Strike Action Wednesday 10 May

We have indicated for the last couple of weeks the intention of PPTA union members to strike this coming Wednesday.  We have received confirmation that this will be taking place.

Pursuant to Section 589 of the Education and Training Act 2020, we have been informed by PPTA that strike action will begin at 7:00am on 10 May 2023 and will end at 11:59pm on 10 May 2023.  This action will be continuous over that period.

This applies to all schools with a Board bound by either the Secondary Teachers’ Collective Agreement or the Area School Teachers’ Collection Agreement in the regions of Wellington, Hutt Valley, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wairarapa, Taranaki, Hawke’s Bay.

Due to the fact that the majority of teaching staff are union members, the school will be closed for instruction but open for supervision.
