Derived Grade Exams
Derived Grade Exams are happening in Week 8 of this term. These provide a valuable opportunity for senior students to sit exams under the same conditions as the NCEA exams in Term 4. Results from the exams will help students to see what progress they have made in each external standard and to identify what learning still needs to occur.
It is important that students prepare well for these exams as, in the event of them not being able to sit an NCEA exam at the end of the year, grades from these exams will be provided to NZQA so that a derived grade can be awarded.
If a student has two exams scheduled at the same time, they should let the relevant teachers know so that a decision can be made as to which exam will be sat at the scheduled time and which will be sat in a different time slot.
