Paraparaumu College is experiencing steady roll growth. In discussions about our site and building capacity, we have agreed with the Ministry of Education to implement an enrolment scheme because of the concern about the risk of overcrowding at our school.
This enrolment scheme came into effect from 1 February 2020.
Please Note: Paraparaumu College is not accepting any out of zone enrolments for the remainder of 2021.

Below is the description of our enrolment scheme home zone. This is a reinstatement of our former zone with some minor modifications:
All students who live within the home zone described below shall be entitled to enrol at the school.
In the south the scheme runs along the intersection of Marine Parade and Toru Road, along Toru Road to the airport and following the airport boundary north along Dakota Rd – Magrath Ave to Kapiti Road, then along both sides of Kapiti Road to old State Highway, up the old State Highway to the intersection of Ruahine Street (including Nikau Valley). The scheme runs east until the top of the Akatarawa summit. The scheme runs along until it meets Hadfield Road. The scheme then runs north up State Highway One to Te Kowhai Road and Gary Road. The scheme then runs back along to coast to the intersection of Marine Parade and Toru Road.

All residential addresses on included sides of boundary roads and all no exit roads off included sides of boundary roads are included in the scheme unless otherwise stated.
This will mean the children from families who live in our home zone will have the absolute right to enrol at Paraparaumu College. All other enrolments will be subject to the enrolment scheme legislation. All children currently enrolled and enrolled before the scheme commences shall be considered as ‘in zone’ students.
Enrolment Scheme legislation defines the priority of enrolment for students who live outside the home zone:
|First Priority||This priority category is not applicable at this school because the school does not run a special programme approved by the Secretary.|
|Second Priority||Will be given to applicants who are siblings of current students.|
|Third Priority||Will be given to applicants who are siblings of former students.|
|Fourth priority||Will be given to applicants who are children of former students.|
|Fifth priority||Will be given to applicants who are either a child of an employee of the board of the school or a child of a member of the board of the school.|
|Sixth priority||Will be given to all other applicants.|
