Outdoor and Physical Education Assistant Vacancy

Paraparaumu College is a proudly co-educational school of around 1,400 students situated on the beautiful Kāpiti Coast.  We enjoy a spacious campus with a growing roll, an innovative approach to learning, and a commitment to achieving the highest equitable outcomes for our students.

We have a fantastic opportunity available for someone to work in this new role with our Outdoor Education and Physical Education departments and deliver a range of services that support both teachers and students.  We are looking for someone who has a positive and helpful attitude who enjoys working with young people. The successful applicant will have demonstrable experience and a strong interest in physical education and New Zealand outdoor education, eg tramping and water sports.  They will also have a sound  understanding of risk management and have the ability to apply this in a school environment and in a wide variety of outdoor education and physical education settings.

This is a part-time position for 20 hours per week for the 2023 school year, however the role could commence in 2022 by mutual agreement.  Some flexibility in the hours worked each week will be required (some weeks a little more, some a little less) and additional hours may be available during our busy times of the year.  The ability to stay away occasionally on overnight trips with students is essential.

We offer a friendly, supportive work environment with an enthusiastic and fun team and look forward to hearing from you if this role sounds like you.
