Sports Director Vacancy

Paraparaumu College operates a successful sports and physical recreation programme and we are looking for a Sports Director to lead and develop this programme further.

We are a proudly co-educational school of around 1,350 students situated on the beautiful Kāpiti Coast.  We enjoy a spacious campus with a growing roll, an innovative approach to learning, and a commitment to achieving high equitable outcomes for all students.

Extracurricular sports is an integral part of college life and learning and is well supported through both the college and in the Kāpiti community.  We pride ourselves on providing high quality opportunities and positive experiences for our students – to have fun, play socially, be healthy and active and to compete at the highest level.

The Sports Director is responsible for developing and delivering a sports and physical recreation programme focussed on increasing participation, performance and enjoyment levels for students and enhancing the profile of sport within the college and in the community.  Building strong relationships within the college and college community, with sports organisations and in the wider Kāpiti community and ensuring the safe delivery and effective administration of the programme are key parts of this role.

We are looking for someone passionate about sport, with exceptional people skills and the ability, confidence and enthusiasm to promote Paraparaumu College sports and physical recreation.   You will have a proven track record in sports leadership and management and this may be from a variety of settings.  You will be skillful in developing relationships and have strong administration skills.

This is a full-time position, starting in Term 3 2020, or by negotiation.
